Are you new to model aircraft flying?

Why not join our novice pilot course!

You have come to the right place! KMMFC has an active flying school with experienced tutors who donate the personal time to teach flying skills to novices. The programme has been taught to a wide audience, from 12 years to senior citizen age!

If you have recently obtained a model aircraft and have no model flying experience, them we strongly recommend that you join a club for expert tuition. Model flying can be a dangerous activity in untrained hands - it is very difficult (near impossible) to teach yourself to fly without mishap. We believe that the best way to approach this exciting hobby is to do it safely - be taught to fly by an experienced instructor!

Andy (right) instructs Paul using a 'buddy box' system. This is a radio control system with dual controls. The instructor can take control of the aircraft when a novice gets into difficulty.

Learning to fly model aircraft can be a challenging feat. Flying requires a range of prerequisite skills - good visual perception, fast reactions and mental agility. Anybody undertaking this hobby for the first time can be overwhelmed by the things needed to be learned and obeyed. However, KMMFC have helped many novices overcome their anxieties and limitations by excellent tuition.

The teaching programme is used to bring members up to the standard of the BMFA A License. All new members have to demonstrate that they can achieve this standard (known as the 'club test') before they can fly solo.

Please give us a email or come down and visit the flying site - share a cup of tea and speak to some of the the other novices!
