Flights Challenge: The 100+ flights are a commemoration of the Wright Brothers and their achievements back in 1903. The total number of flights commemorates the number of years that have passed since that date.

Latest News: 103 Flights - June 2006

The 103 flights challenge was finally achieved. Originally scheduled back in May but was abandoned due to severe weather (the wind was horrendous - it nearly blew away the tent, planes and members!). Fortunately, on the 25th June, the pilot Gods smiled favourably on KMMFC and we had fair weather for the flying. Novices, including Tony, Rob and John got proceedings underway. By mid-afternoon the flight total was racking up. Food and drinks were consumed in quantity, thirsty work this flying! Thanks to Tony P. for marshalling the score and managing the flight line. Building on the success of this day, we intend to have a new event called the Games Challenge this year - watch this space for further details!

102 Flights - August 2005

Yet again KMMFC achieves another successful fun day for all. The 102 flights were achieved on a glorious sunny day. Thanks to Bill and Loren for helping with the drinks and BBQ. Lenny (seated) and Loren kept flight record. The novice pilots played an important role in the flight tally - well done to Nick, Graham, Mark, John and Dave!

101 Flights - August 2004

A club activity that aims to achieve 101 recorded aircraft flights in a single day. Each pilot has to fly their aircraft for a minimum of five minutes, refuel and repeat the exercise. A qualifying flight must take-off and land from the runways, must not dead-stick or infringe any of the club rules.

The 2004 event was as popular as ever. The target was achieved in good time, with many members contributing to the final score. Well done!

Club BBQ

A popular club and family get-together with food and drinks. Normally arranged in the summer, especially when we can book the weather!

Broken Prop Award

Given to the pilot who bin bags his aircraft in style. A consolation award to pilots whose aircraft has gone to the heavenly hanger in the sky.

Or just relax...

Typical club scene from a Sunday.
